Process After Closed Nose Surgery
In closed nose surgery, the patient may remain under observation for one day due to general anesthesia. Silicone splints and protective bands are placed on the patient’s nose to reduce bleeding and removed after two or three days. Due to the breathable nature of these splints, patients are prevented from experiencing problems while breathing. With the increase in the use of splints and protective tapes, the use of plaster has decreased and the postoperative comfort of the patients has increased. In this surgery, aesthetic sutures are placed in the nose of the patients and these stitches do not need to be removed because the stitches dissolve on their own. A bath should be taken at least three days after closed nose surgery. It is normal for edema and swelling to occur in the first 48 hours and will pass by itself in a short time. Patients can return to their daily lives within a week or ten days.
During the first week of the operation, it is recommended that the patient lies with the patient’s head elevated. It is even recommended to use two pillows. Recovery time is about six weeks. It is not recommended to do heavy sports for two months after the surgery. Avoiding the sun’s rays and using a hat instead of the sun should be preferred.
